hard to believe, but true--ELise is standing! Andrew's doing most of the balancing, but Elise is cooperating well by keeping her legs straight and her head still. This is on the rooftop of our friends' house in Surkhet. It is hot there these days, so after dinner we all went up to the roof to talk and cool off. We were so thankful to be here after a 16 hour bus ride!

The girls being cute (and not wearing many clothes because of the heat).

Elise "standing". Our friend Abby was playing with her and had her leaning up against the table. Next thing we knew Abby was doing something else and Elise was still standing! Who knew she had such skills! :-)

I love this picture of all of us! We went up to the town we lived in while we studied language in Kathmandu to visit some of our friends. While we were waiting for a bus back to the city, it started to POUR!!!! Thankfully, this little overhang was just ahead, so we stopped for a few minutes. Before the rain let up, a van came down the hill. It was already full, but Brian and Lois had to get back for language class, so we decided the three of us would try to fit in. After Brian got in and Lois sat on his lap and I squeezed onto the end of a full bench seat, the other three suddenly decided to go too. I think we counted almost 25 people in that van. . .

A couple of the friends we visited in Godawari (our old home).

cool, nice pics, glad you guys made it back. Looks like you're doing well. Maybe I'll come visit again next summer ;)
The girls are getting so cute. I'm not sure which is which, but in the second picture the little one on the top/left with more hair looks like a Sargent to me. I can see Dan & Peter when they were little in her face and eyes.
